Lots of exciting news...

First of all, our computer monitor is on the fritz and we can't post pictures..... bummer.
Almost three weeks from the last entry and lots has happened.

My second cousin Bekah was with us until this past monday, when she went home to Tucson, but while she was here i got really good at swimming - i get in the baby pool, put my head in the water and "swim" across holding my breath the whole time. Mommy is thrilled, especially because now she feels like she can play harder with me in the pool - we were doing bucking bronco the other day!

We went camping again (i'll post those pictures soon) with lots of family - tia and sammer and their mom and dad, bridger and riley and their mom and dad and bekah. it was lots of fun. mom put me in the backpack and climbed this huge mountain - her legs were shaking by the time we got back to the bottom, but she was excited for a good workout. i loved camping, i was asking to go again on the drive home. mom and dad are really happy too, since they love to camp. Izaac had fun too, doesn't care a thing about crawling aroung in the dirt. Nobody naps very well, though - mom had to take me in the car so i would nap in the car seat.

I am getting more comfortable pooping in the potty chair and mom and dad are excited. They are getting rid of my pull up at nap time - i was able to hold my pee all morning and then pee in my nap time diaper - and put a pad on my bed, so now i have to go in the potty. That's ok, i am getting to like it better. Izaac still doesn't have any more teeth - just the two bottom ones, and is still crawling around - he did balance for a second yesterday on his feet, but he is not interested in walking. He's crazy - by his age i was walking everywhere - in the grass, across the bed, anywhere. And i had eight teeth by the time i was his age... what's up with that? He is getting the hang of signing, his first sign was 'dog' so mom decided to do a dog theme for his first birthday.

So mom and dad bought some parts to the chariot - a jogging wheel, so now mom can take both zac and i on her runs - we did that the other day and mom felt good enough to go out longer and we made it to a park to play. mom said she felt like she could be gone longer because she wasn't depending on someone else to watch us. It was great all around because i had fun, zac had fun and mom had fun.

talk to you later, hopefully the computer will be up soon.

Camping for the first time

My second cousing Bekah came to stay with us on Friday, after staying with Tia and Sammer for a couple weeks. Mom and I went shopping for camping and then picked her up, and then went home to get the car loaded and pick up dad and zac and the dogs up for our first ever camping trip. We had tried to camp in Tucson back in February, but got rained out. We were hoping for better weather this time. We drove to Glenwood Springs, Colorado - about 3 hours away and looked for a camp site. We were able to get one easy - mom and dad were happy. It was fun setting up our huge "fort" - it almost didn't fit in the campsite, and getting everything set up. Bekah was a huge help for mommy, as she kept zac entertained, and watched me as I zoomed in and out of the fort. We were set up in time to make dinner and then walked around the campsite to explore the showers - pretty gross, but the exciting thing was there was a bear in a tree in the campground. Dad was really worried, so he had all of us go to bed and kept watch. He finally came in the tent too and we all went to bed - Bekah and I slept well, but zac was up a lot and so were mom and dad. Mom was pretty grumpy in the morning since she was practically falling off the mattress all night with zac in there with them.
The next day we went to the hot springs and swam - it was fun, but I had a major melt down by 11am. I guess I didn't sleep that well. Izaac was asleep in mom's arms, so we went back to the tent to make bean burros and try and take naps. Yeah right. It was SO hot. We were all roasting in the tent, but I guess I has enough quiet time, as I settled down. So mom decided it was time to go back to the hot springs to swim. Dad stayed with the dogs - took them for a walk, because it would have been too hot to leave them in the car. I had a great time. Bekah and I went down the slide while mom and zac swam in the pool. We left when it started to thunder and lightning, and we all took good showers and then headed back to the fort. By then zac and I were totally exhausted and slept in the car. They left us in the car ( it was cooler then) and we slept for almost 2 hours. Then out to dinner at a brewery in town and then back to the fort for bed. We all slept well that night.
Sunday we got up and had an early breakfast, went for a walk to the river and then packed up for home. We drove part way and stopped outside of Vail for a picnic and fishing, then made it home. I was ballistic on the way home after fishing, because mom wanted to drive the pickup - she had had enough of driving us kids, and I wanted to be with her. I convinced her to let me ride with her but still was not happy. She pulled over after 30 minutes and moved me back to the 4runner. I was not happy, and dad had a miserable drive home, but we all survived our first camping trip.

Well, after I got my haircut last friday we went swimming and I used a bathing suit that has little inflatable things tucked in it and so I did not have to use an innertube to go in the big pool! I was nervous but got the hang of it so quickly. Mom was so excited to see me "swimming" without any help. I swam around her - did not let her get too far from me, but really loved being free to swim without a tube around me. Thanks Josh for the hand-me-down bathing suit. Since then we have been to the pool a few times and now I am really getting the hang of swimming with this suit. I swam all the way across the pool the long way without touching mom! And I am jumping off the edge of the pool into the water! It is so cool. Now mama feels much more comfortable taking us to the pool by herself, and the rule of only getting in the baby pool when there is only her to watch us has been eliminated - I just have to be wearing this new bathing suit.
Izaac is moving so fast these days, and wanting to play with whatever I am playing with. I usually push him in the face to get him to back off, but then I get a time out. He just doesn't listen to me very well. Yesterday he crawled all the way up the stairs for the first time. He did it twice! He was only able to make it up 2 or 3 steps before, and there are about 12-14 steps. Mom and dad got the gate up pretty quick.
Talk to you later......

haircut

Today mom and Izaac and me all took an early nap at 9 am. Mom thinks that if I could just sleep in longer than 530 in the morning we would all do better in the mornings. So then mom was up at 10 and Zac and I were up at 11. By noon mom had us all piled in to the chariot and took us by bike to the post office and to the hairdressers for a haircut for me and then to the park. Zac was crying tired by the time we got home and is now in the middle of his second two hour nap of the day. This is a short entry since what I really want to do is go to PBSkids.org and am trying to get mom to stop typing by yelling PBS! PBS! PBS! in her ear. Dad set up a train track down here in the basement for mom to hopefully be able to work on the computer while we played with the train. It isn't working. see ya later
