the holidays

Well, as promised, there will be more pictures than words....
lots of stuff has been going on - we got a huge blizzard on the 20th (19th?) - mom had to work the next day and couldn't get out of our culdesac - her work sent someone to pick her and another nurse up at their houses. She had to hike out to the vehicle, cause it couldn't get to the house! then winter solstice, and lots of holiday gatherings. The big storm -the blizzard of 2006- had sunny warm days afterwards and we had a blast in the snow. Built slides and dug caves in the snow in our culdesac, went sledding, and played outside alot. We got another snowstorm a couple nights ago - not nearly as much snow as the first one, but it has stayed really cold - in the 20's all day for the last two days. Lots of indoor playing.

We celebrated christmas at home on christmas eve cause mom and dad worked christmas, but then we had more christmas at ariadnee's house on christmas day, and mom got to come home early. only one christmas baby at the hospital this year.

Tomorrow is new years eve, and zac and i are sleeping at grandma's house, while mom and dad go out for a nyeve celebration - their first in probably 6 years (or more).

Mom and dad did get the floors done - just time consuming trim stuff and wall touch ups left to do - and grandma and jiddo gave them a beautiful "persian" rug. thanks grandma and jiddo - we love it, it makes the house!

excited for christmas

Mom and dad are exhausted with my energy. I am so excited for christmas, that i can't sit still for one minute. Mom has said frequently that she has never seen me so worked up. Today was the christmas party at my preschool, and santa came - mom was happy for me, but it didn't help me to calm down.

It has been almost two weeks since the last entry - the wood floors are going well, actually almost done, about 5 more feet to go in the dining room and 4 more feet in the kitchen. The entry from the garage and the bathroom took a little extra time last week, but now it is just laying the planks down again. Just waiting for dad to get off work for the week! Hopefully one more day will complete the downstairs, and another day for the landing upstairs. Then another day or two of painting the doors and trim, and replacing the trim to the walls, and touching up the paint on the walls, and this project will be over!!! Dad has already said NO MORE BIG PROJECTS!!! He is reclaiming all his lost hours of biking this coming new year; all biking, no projects. (mom reminds him that he'll need to finish the d*** deck in the spring).

I said my first real swear word the other day in the car. I was really really tired, and really upset, and we got to a light and i was mad that we had to stop and said "these F***ing lights! these lights are F***ing!" Mom was really quiet for awhile, and then asked where i heard that word, and i wouldn't tell her. She didn't say anything else about it. Later she asked dada - turns out he said those words working on something, while he thought i couldn't hear. That'll teach them for swearing. I haven't used it since - they just didn't make a big deal about it at all.

Izaac has his lower part of the bunk bed all set up - it has just had the mattress set on the floor within the bed frame for a few weeks. Just needed to put the slats in the bed to raise the mattess off the floor. The other night mom woke up for no reason at 2am, and came out on the landing between their room and ours. She thought she heard an animal wimpering, and then realized it was from our room - she came in and found zac under the bed frame, smooshed between his mattress and the beanbag, and could only see his little legs kicking around - all his upper body was smothered. He had worked himself into that predicament, and was still asleep, amazingly, but getting restless. Mama quickly extracted him, at which time he woke up and started crying after he was out. He wasn't scared though, just woken up, and he went right back to sleep. Mom told dad that the next day he was to put the slats in zac's bed, and he did.

anyway, next time, more pictures, less talking....

Thanksgiving, Wood Floors and Izabel's Stats

Well, of course we have been busy....Thanksgiving was really fun - uncle riyan, aunt anjee, ariadnee and samarah came over and everyone had a great time... and the following weekend we spent the whole weekend away from home while mom and dad started on the floors. We spent all of saturday with ariadnee, and then mom and zac and i spent the night at grandma and jiddo's empty townhouse while dada worked on the floors some more. Then sunday we spent all day with the neighbor kids, and by then mom and dad had layed about 5 linear feet of wood flooring. Not much for two whole days.... they were a little discouraged because right off the bat they were having measurement problems. Mom conceded that dad was right that they should have started on the far wall from the front door, but mom wanted to start at the front door....well they had to shave some pieces down to get it all to work right, but in the end it all worked out and is just fine appearance-wise and structure-wise. Now they have made it in to the dining room, and have maybe a third of the total area left - it went much faster after the kinks were worked out.
Later in the week last week (after thanksgiving) i went to my four year old appointment - i am in the 80% for weight and 60% for height - and doing great everywhere else too. My doc noticed i have a little lisp when i talk, but mom thought it was normal for my age... the doc said i'd probably grow out of it and wasn't too worried either.
I am doing great in school - wrote my whole name for the first time - usually i just write the 'I', but today it was my whole name!!!
And izaac is pooping and peeing in the potty more frequently, but still can't be trusted without a diaper - even though mom lets him run around naked, then he starts to pee, stops himself and finishes in the toilet. She thinks he'll eventually learn that way, but mom and dad just have to have the energy to clean up his accidents and get him to the potty too. He hasn't had a poop accident in a while - he's almost better at realizing he has to poop than realizing he has to pee. Anyway, enough of that talk.....
talk to you soon!
