Izaac is walking!

Well, Izaac is spending more time on his feet than on his knees. Yay!!! Last thursday when mom was at work and he took seven steps in a row was the starting point - he has walked more and more every day and is now walking in the grass and down the driveway. He is amazing. not even 10 days later and he is walking 90% of the time.

Carter visits

We had fun this weekend, with mom and dad both off work. Saturday mom and dad rode their bikes a fair in the park in Broomfield with us in the chariot. i had lots of fun going down this huge slide, but no pictures - mom forgot the camera. Sunday mom took us to Walker farm, a living museim of a pioneer farm and i learned how to wash socks the way they did in the "old days". Tia and bridger and riley were there too.

Monday my friend carter and his mom and dad (johanna and ty) arrived to visit on their way from canada to tucson. We were thrilled to hear they were going to stay until today (wed). Ariadnee was also here on monday, so i was so hyper and excited and we had a fun day at the park in the afternoon. Zac slept really well monday night and tuesday mama worked and the rest of us played. Last night zac was waking up every 30 mins or so crying and needing help going back to sleep. Mom held off nursing him till after 5am, just like she's planning, but she sure did not get much sleep. Today mom took zac and me in the chariot with her bike to school while dad stayed home - he has done alot of work on the deck this week off and has it looking really nice. Ty went for a run and johanna and carter went to the park. And then we all rested, hanging out, napping, watching tv or reading. a nice day.

talk to you later ...

New carseats/Zac cries it out

Mom illegally turned zac to face forward in his carseat - he met the requirements in kgs, but not in pounds. This didn't bother mom, or dad, especially since the only way to fit three car seats in the 4runner (when ariadnee is with us) is to face them all forward.

On labor day we went to see the Louisville parade and then went to lara's and raja's for a bbq. I love being with my cousins. Dad didn't go to the parade, he stayed home and worked on the ...........deck! (who'dve guessed) He did come for the bbq, though. The good new on the deck is he put up the first of the balusters - i think more to see what they are going to look like, because he said he is going to go back to the railings when he goes back to work on it this week (last night was his last night at work, until next wed).

Zac has been having a rough time lately. He has had four top teeth all come in around the same time, which has made him very cranky and restless. Learning to take steps has also made him restless, so he has been nursing more and more, getting up to three times at night. Mom was starting to lose it. Again. So she decided to revisit the "crying it out" method of nighttime parenting - she felt justified since zac has started to be in a better mood (the four teeth have all broken through), making mom feel taken advantage of. Zac can really cry up a storm to make mom melt. So friday night, mom tried to let him cry it out (dad was at work, and i was getting to sleep all week with mom), but she melted when she went in to his room "just" to reassure him. He clawed at her and sobbed and of course she picked him up and nursed him all that night. Saturday she said she was really ready to do it, and when he cried at 11pm, she nursed him and told him that was the last night nursing he could have. Of course he cried again at 330am and she closed his door and her door and let him cry for 22 mins, then went in, reassured him and left. He went crazy!!!! But mom closed his door, her door and turned the monitor off and let him cry until he settled down - another 20-25 mins. This brought us to about 430am, when i woke up and bounced on her bed till she had to get up for work at 515am. Mom was ragged. The good news is that since then zac seems to get it that he is not to nurse at night. He wakes up and cries and either gets himself to sleep or mom goes in and gives him his pacifier and he lays HIMSELF down. It has been a long month, but mom is pleased.

Talk to you later.
