Memorial Day/Mom's bday weekend

Well, Izaac was sick for awhile, diarrhea and vomiting, finally starting to feel better on friday - which made mom and dad feel ok about a spontaneous date to go out for dinner to celebrate their birthdays. They left us in the care of the neighbors and they went out for a nice quiet sushi dinner. Then saturday, our neighbor kaden was having his 5th birthday party, and his mom, krista - my mom's good friend- had planned to celebrate mom's birthday at the same time - so she invited our cousins to play. It was a nice mellow kids party, but mom got a happy birthday song too.

The rest of the weekend was dedicated to resting, gardening, dad getting his mountain bike in working order, and on today - memorial day - we had a nice afternoon with just our family, having a bbq on our deck.

The exciting neighborhood news is that the community pool opened friday, and we have been almost everyday. Mom thinks i am totally ready to swim, but i am not quite confident enough to take my feet off the pool bottom long enough to find out.

Aunt Donna/sick days

So last tuesday my dad's aunt donna died in surgery. She was my nana's oldest sister, and this weekend was the service in phoenix. Send good vibes out to my nana - she is really sad.

I did get my ears pierced on wednesday, and i am so proud of them, taking care of them so well. Mom is thrilled with my cooperation. She is not thrilled with izaac's temper tantrums - they are getting worse (hopefully they will get better), but he spiked a fever of 103.9 on friday, and then threw up all day saturday, so maybe he will cut the tempertantrums out when he is feeling better. Today he threw up once this am, and had a fever this afternoon, but he was able to eat dinner and keep it down.

tomorrow is school again - the last week of school! I can't believe i have finished one whole academic year!

Back Home

Well. we've been home for a couple weeks....back in the swing of things.
My cousin Tia had her slumber party - she is 5 years old!!! I had so much fun!
Then we had a few days to relax before mom went back to work - which was filled with another birthday party - Tia's cousin riley turned 7 and had a party at this place called pumpit up, which is a place filled with huge inflatable bouncing things. That was fun too. Mom went back to work Thursday and Saturday, and then we had a nice bbq on sunday for mother's day with our neighbors. Mom said she had the best time, she's become good friends with our neighbor kaden's mom, and she said for mom's day she wanted to hang out with her friend.

Last night we heard some bad news about dad's aunt donna - she had back surgery and may not "make it", and we haven't heard any news this am, so we are waiting to call the family in phx to hear what is going on....

Dad goes back to work tonight -after 5 weeks off, and still he doesn't feel like it has been long enough...
and tonight we are going to go have dinner at the mall, and i am going to get my ears pierced - my big reward for giving up the pacifier for 1 month!!!

Back from Vacation!

We had a fun filled vacation. Dad drove zac and me and the dogs down to phoenix on wed april 12th, and the drive went smooth as silk, and mom didn't fly down until wed, april 18th! A whole week without mom, and everyone did great. Zac reverted to needing someone to lay down with him everytime he was supposed to go to sleep, naps included, but that probably had alot to do with getting rid of our pacifiers a week before we left. And we both ate tons of candy and ice cream and Nana and Pop and Grandma and Jiddo spoiled us wonderfully.

So the first week (without mom) went great, we spent all our time in phx, visiting with all our cousins and aunts and uncles. We had a big family dinner at and spent time at aunt Jana's, and stayed with nana and pop the whole time. Zac and i had our own room at nana's, and we got lots of presents. Dad got to go fishing, and biking while we stayed and played with nana.

On wed the 18th, we went to pick up mom from the airport, and we were really excited to see her and she was really excited to see us. And then we spent another week in phx, mom and dad went on bike rides, mom had a jewelry party, dad went to a baseball game with pop, and we just hung out, watched lots of movies, played outside - the weather was wonderful.

We drove to Tucson on wed the 25th, and stayed for three nights. Mom and dad got to see some old friends, toby and jen, jeff, and marc the first night. Then we spent time with grandma and jiddo, went to the sonora desert zoo/museum and saw lots of desert animals and plants. We learned to stay far away from cactuses, and only zac and mom got pricked, and mom only got pricked because she was saving izaac from a cactus. We got to swim in grandma's pool and had lots of fun. On sat mom's cousins and their kids and one of mom's friend dan and his kid came up for breakfast, and we had a good visit. Then that eve we drove back to phx that evening.

Sunday we spent the day on a boat on the lake in phx and had so much fun, and then monday we drove up to nana and pop's cabin near payson with nana and stayed there a couple nights. Then wed we got everything packed and drove to mancos, colorado and camped in the state park, and then drove on home the next day. Camping was a little crazy, i was screaming tired and mom was mad at everyone because we were all complaining, and we all pretty much lost our cool, with mom and dad and me yelling at each other, only izaac was cool, just singing to himself the whole time. But if you asked me now, i'd tell you we had a great camp experience, cause it was all better the next day.

Since we have been home, things have been good, settling back in. My cousin tia had her 5th birthday yesterday and i had a sleepover at her house last night, and yesterday was mom's sister nada's 41st birthday too - mom visited her today with izaac before she came to pick me up, and got to see baby dante, who is almost 3 months!
Mom and dad are working on weaning zac off his need to have someone lay down with him, which is a drag for them, but over the vacation he did a great job potty training and is pretty much done, staying dry at naps and nighttime 50% of the time too. He did have some accidents - poop and pee - on the vacation, so mom just doesn't feel completely trusting of his ability to realize ahead of time that he needs to go, and just when she thinks he is doing awesome, he reminds everyone that he isn't even three yet, and has an accident.

well, enjoy the pics!
