Sad news

It has been awhile since i wrote. We had a sad week the first week of June. Mama's aunt Martha died. She was Jiddo's brother's wife, and she was only 62. Mama was sad - remembering spending the summer in kentucky when she was 12 or 13, with her cousins Hala, Samer and Nadim and Aunt Martha and Ammo Ghosn. They took her camping and always let the kids play out by the stream in the back yard whenever they visited. Mama is really sad for her cousins and her uncle - and wishes the best for them. Aunt Martha was so warm and kind and she will really be missed. Mama went to Ky with uncle Raja and uncle Riyan to go to the service and see her cousins. We stayed home in Co with dada.
The next week mom and dad spent all their spare time cleaning up the back yard, trimming trees and rose bushes and going through all the stuff that was tossed under the deck when we first moved in and hasn't been looked at since. I think they are getting the back yard ready for someone to come and put in a sprinkler system - then the grass will be soft instead of like hard straw! Mom "designed" the sprinkler plan - now dad has to put in the last couple steps coming down from the deck so that the people putting in the sprinklers will know where they should go. Mama really wants to have a "back yard" party (hopefully by the end of Aug) to celebrate the deck and back yard getting done.
Mama's exciting news is that she got a new mountain bike! Her old bike had a crack in it, and she risked it and took it on her bike trip - her bike survived, but the crack did spread a little - one last Hurrah for the old scott! Mama loved that bike and was sad. Now she has a new fancy bike - she says she has to do another trip so that she can start getting attached to this new bike.....
I am doing great - almost gave up my binky, but couldn't sleep at all, so mom said we could try again later. I really am a big girl and keep telling mom i am ready, but i guess mom would rather have me sleeping well than give up my binky too soon. I am also doing great with my alphabet - they ask me things like which words start with "D", and i can come up with lots of words - and that is for lots of letters, not just "D"!
Zac has lost all interest in peeing and pooping in the potty - but mom and dad didn't really think it was the real deal, so all is good.
On the 16th mom had her own little personal celebration - zac turned the exact age i was when he was born - mom celebrated NOT being pregnant! I think mom is very happy with the two of us, and just the two of us!
Talk to you later!

Dad's 36th Bday! Mama's Bike Trip and 35th Bday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADA!!!!

Well, the day after my last post mama left on a 5 day trip to utah's canyonlands without us! She was gone from sunday and got back thursday night after we were already asleep. She was burned to a crisp and really happy. She said she had a great time in utah, even though she really missed us. She rode her bike 80 miles in 4 days and camped with 8 other women - they had to fix their own bikes and carried all their camping gear in one truck - strapped high on the top. We had a great time with dada - he kept telling mom everything was fine and we were really good. Mom will never know the truth......(part of her birthday present)

On Friday morning we woke up to see her for ther first time - and it was her 35th birthday too! Both zac and i came in to her room saying "happy birthday mama". She almost cried.

Then on Memorial Day, mama ran a 10k race in the streets of Boulder - they close off the town for almost the whole day. She ran with Aunt lara and had a great run. Dad took us to boulder in the chariot - round trip mileage was almost 50 miles!!! Mom thinks that was more of an accomplishment than her 10k run. Mama woke the next morning swearing she wouldn't run again - her knees hurt so much she couldn't carry me down the stairs. Maybe if she trained better......

Today is dada's birthday - he worked last night and works tonight so all mom could figure out to do was go out to breakfast and then mama and i made a cake for this evening. Happy birthday dada - we love you!

talk to you later....

Home from vacation - for 2 weeks now...

Well, we left phoenix and drove to Durango, where we went out to eat and then stayed the night at a hotel. Mom and dada love durango and dad has decided to move there. Mom wonders how she is ever going to balance dad's dreams with reality, even though she loves the idea herself.....
We had a great drive home, but about 2 hours before we got home, mom shut down. She just couldn't talk to and entertain us for a second longer. Dad did a great job picking up the slack, and he caught mom smiling at his singing while she was engrossed in her harrypotter book.

Jumped right back in to the swing of things when we got home - went to swim class the next day, and mom had to work the day and then gymnastics on thursday. Grandma and jiddo came in to town for the weekend - it was aunt nada's 40th birthday and my cousin tia's 4th birthday and there were lots of parties. I got to spend the night at grandma and jiddo's house with my cousins while there were at aunty nada'sbirthday party.

Last weekend we went over to play at tia's house while aunty lara and mom went for a "long" run - they are training for the bolderboulder race on memorial day. Uncle raja watched us - that was different. Then on sunday - mother's day - we had breakfast in bed with mommy (actually we ate on the floor next to the bed), and then left the house bright and early because mom was volunteering at the title9 mothers day race. She was filling cups of gatorade and handing them to all these women running by, and she showed me how to do it and i did! I was so excited each time someone would take a cup from me. Mom was so impressed at how good i am getting at following complex instructions and how grown up i am. Mom and dad were both impressed because we had to ride our bikes to the water station and it was over a mile away from where we parked - so i rode 2 or 2.5 miles on my bike, up and down hills on a dirt road! We all had so much fun.

Talk to you later!
