No more pacifiers and off to Phoenix

What a full week!!!
So when mom went to the dentist, the dentist said it was time for me to come and have my teeth looked at. So mom took me and izaac to the dentist a couple thursdays ago, and the dentist really talked to me hard about giving up my binky. We had been talking about it already at home, so mom decided it was time to give up the binkys. Everyone. So that day izaac and i stopped the binky use cold turkey - it has been 10 days now. We had easter weekend at ariadnee's house, which was a good distraction and didn't use the binkys, and then after 4 full days of no binky, mom threw a big party for us, cake and balloons and friends to celebrate the end of the binky era. Mom for once, was grateful for all the candy in the house - it helped us get through some of the hard times. No time like the present to replace one addiction for another, right? And that night we put the binkys out for the binky fairy, and she left us each a cool present.

That was last monday, then tuesday we started getting ready for vacation. On wed we didn't nap, and went to mcdonalds for dinner as a treat, and then dad drove us kids and the dogs to phoenix - through the night. We did so well!!! Dad was so impressed with us - he told mom i was exceptional. I was helpful and cooperative, and izaac slept most of the time. We made it to phoenix in the morning!

So mom has been home alone for a couple days - she's worked alot, but has also spent some time decorating the house - putting up pictures and stuff. She's enjoying her time alone.

Springtime Fun

We had a great weekend! We had snow on Thursday and some of friday, so dad wasn't sure about racing on sunday, but it cleared up nicely and dad had a great race. He placed 5th out of 30 or 40 people in his group. He was so happy. Mom and izaac and i had a fun time cheering him on and playing with other kids on the sidelines. I can pretty much make friends with anyone, and so can izaac. Too bad our camera battery ran out while we were out there, or mom would've taken alot more pictures.
Sunday afternoon we had a culdesac BBQ, and that was fun too. Monday mom went to the dentist and took me, and then we came back home, picked up izaac and went to get ariadnee from school. Izaac and i are still on spring break, but today i was playing school, so mom thinks i actually do miss it. I think she is wrong, i'd really rather stay home and play all day.
Dad goes back to work tonight.
talk to you later....

More snow....

So we got more snow yesterday - enough to have to shovel the deck this morning, but it was not so freezing - mom was at work all day, but dad had us outside for close to two hours, and we made snow angels and a snow couch and a snowman with our neighbor Kaden! We planned to "camp" inside last night (we sleep in the living room with all our camping beds), but the airmattresses all had holes in them, so mom made me feel better by letting me sleep in her bed all night. Dad is going to fix the mattresses today so we can camp inside tonight - we've been doing this alot this winter, one more fun thing to do inside!
One day it's 65 Degrees, the next we have 8 inches of snow!!!!

Mom is Computer Illiterate....

Ok, so it has been forever since we have blogged... mom is going to blame it on the blog site. Here she goes.... the blog site changed it's way of transferring pictures from the computer to the blog site, and i am having a hell of a time figuring it out, have tried a couple times, but since time on the blog site is limited, i have been spending it all on figuring out the new system and not actually blogging. Some things take me longer to learn than others....anyway, the good new is that i think i've figured it out enough that i can continue to help izzie with her blog.

SO now that mom has figured it out, we have lots to report since feb....
We have a new cousin... Dante Martin was born feb 13th and is doing really well, the biggest baby of all on mom's side at 8+ lbs at birth.
Our other new cousin - Samarah - who was born last october 13th is growing like a weed - and we get to take care of her once a week, and of course her big sister Ariadnee comes over too, so mom has 4 kids once a week - she keeps saying things like - "best birth control EVER"!!

Our family spent about a month (from feb 11th - march 9th) sick sick sick. This also contributed to mom's lack of energy to figure out the blog changes. Zac and I had the flu, fevers and all, Mom had the flu (even though she never got a fever - she says she never ever gets a fever, no matter how sick she gets), and Dad got something intestinal. Anyway, it started with me, went to izaac, then mom and then dad, but mom was sick the longest - she figures because she rarely gets a chance to rest....it drove her crazy to feel bad for so long because.....
the weather is warming up!!! yay! finally!!!

We have been playing in the back yard, the snow finally all melted (probably by the end of february) and we cleaned up all the broken limbs from the trees that broke in last october's snow storm. It is so great to be outside. Mom keeps expecting another huge storm - we've had a couple snow flurries, but now there are only rainstorms - which are so easy to handle after the snow.
Dad is riding to work regularly, yay daddy!
We've gone to school in the chariot - with dad pulling us and mom riding along side. She has been too chicken to try and pull us - we have gotten so much bigger than the last time she pulled us (oct 2006), that she is afraid she can't get us up a big hill that we have to go up to get home from school. But today she broke through her fear and took us on a ride in the chariot, and did great. We are on spring break, so we didn't go to school, but went to a new (to us) park with a friend and then to the library. She made it up the hill just fine, but calculated while she was pedaling that we probably weigh 70-75 lbs, plus the weight of the chariot.
Dad hopes to ride a race this sunday - the one he did last year - which he wasn't in shape for then and he isn't in shape for now (according to him). Mom tells him to just do it and try and have some fun - she knows he always feels better when he does it, just accomplishing something. Dad's allergies are kicking his butt right now, so he is miserable, and disappointed since he has been doing allergy shots since last july to help make this season better.
Mom and Dad finished painting the downstairs (except the kitchen, which is not on the plans to paint) - they picked a cool reddish brown for one wall, and they also updated all the fixtures - got rid of all the brass stuff in the house.
I am doing great - mom is impressed with how helpful and generous i can be, and how great i am with my brother. I am really growing up nicely, she says. I have not really fallen in love with school, or extra activities - i really started complaining about having to go to school or swimming or gymnastics, so mom hasn't singe us up for anything extra - just school. It is nice to take a break and stay at home with the family.
Zac has decided he doesn't want to pee and poop in the potty anymore, so mom and dad are changing diapers again. They can't believe how different he is in potty training than i was. Two years ago on april 1, i potty trained - and had maybe 5 accidents after that, but was basically done. Izaac has been off and on with the potty training for five or six months, and still hasn't decided he wants to get it over with. Dad gets pretty mad, and mom tries to not make a big deal about it - she is afraid of traumitizing zac - especially in this arena, but they don't know how to change it (cause i was so easy...) so they don't do anything and hope that eventually he'll make his mind up to do it for good.

So that is a brief update, and we'll post pictures of Dante now, and do more pictures later. Later.

Thawing Out

We finally got into the 50's and 60's over the last couple days - finally warm enough to go into the basement work on the computer for longer than 5 minutes!

January was hibernation month here. We had multiple snow storms, continuing from the december blizzard, and have had so much accumulation that the roads have piles of ice taller than mom along the edges. The last few days have changed that, but looks like more snow is on the way.

Zac and I started school again, and gymnastics and swimming. I am really swimming now - not just floating and kicking. Zac is still really comfortable in the water - he "swims" too, laying down face down in the water and going back and forth from dad to his teacher. He can hold his breath for a long time.
I am learning my letters, and can write my name all by myself. I even wrote the mumber 10 (for 10'o'clock) perfectly in the space where mommy signs Izaac out from his class (she has to sign and time the entry). Izaac is potty training really well. He has been in skivvies at home for a while, but last week they risked taking him out and about with skivvies on instead of a diaper. No public accidents yet!!!! A couple days ago he did pee on the floor again - he was too busy playing and mom got complacent in reminding him to go. Yesterday mom was at the hardware store with him and he said he had to poop and pee, but then he freaked out about doing it in a public bathroom, kept yelling "i want to go home!!!" Mom ended up putting a diaper on him to make it home, and then he really freaked out, but he stayed dry all the way home. Mom is worried now she has scarred him in some aspect of potty training, which will cause long term issues - as freud believed.

Well, nothing else is new around here - mom had a baby party for aunt nada, but she hasn't had her baby yet. She is due day after tomorrow.

Mom took one picture in january (the camera wasn't charged for a long time), so not many pictures to share.
Mom was actually quite busy in january - she was training at work to be a scrub nurse for surgeries in her department, and she spent a lot of time away from home. So now she can be one of the nurses that is part of the surgical team for c-sections and tubal ligations - where she hands the docs the instruments. She ended up making some extra money, so mom and dad finally bought some real living/great room furniture a couple days ago. She has reearranged the furniture in the whole house - dad thinks that is what happens to her when she gets stuck inside for so long. She kind of goes crazy.....

talk to you soon.
