Easter in Phoenix

We have been in phoenix for a few days....
had a great Easter at aunt Jana's and uncle Jody's house. Got to swim in their cool pool and jauzzi tub. We are loving the warm weather. Mom went on a power walk on monday morning with aunt jana, I got to hang out with nana and zac at the park, because dad went fishing all day with papa. He caught a huge fish - 18 inches and probably 3-3.5 lbs! Plus another good sized one! He had lots of fun! Came home pretty toasted - in more than one way!
Today we all got to go to the lake and ride in a fast boat and go fishing. Zac and i loved the boat, but didn't really get in to the fishing. We did jump in the lake, and then realized how cold it was. Mom tried to warn us....
Tomorrow we leave early to drive to Costa Mesa, CA to see mom's uncle Fouad and her cousins.

Driving to Phoenix

Well, yesterday we left for phoenix, we are so excited to start our vacation. We left around noon and drove and drove. Mom and dad were impressed with how well we did in the car. We stopped in Sante Fe for a yummy mexican dinner at Tomasita's. Mom and dad really miss good mexican food. Zac and i ate really well. So we got back in the car to see how far we could go after dinner, and zac and i fell asleep, so mom and dad pushed it all the way to Gallup. Big Mistake! we both woke up 10 mins before gallup and screamed to get out - this was about 11pm. Then we got to the hotel and wouldn't go to sleep - i screamed that my mouth hurt till 2am. Mom and dad had no idea what was going on with me, cause my mouth was fine. Then we hardly got any sleep and got up and left early. We were good on the road again, and made it to phoenix at around 3pm our time. Gained an hour to play!

Made it to Phoenix. Yay, its warm! Posted by Picasa

Can't believe it has already been THREE weeks since i last updated this.....
Update on the staples in the head - they were fine. I kept looking at books that were held together with staples to see what exactly was in my head. Mom took them out after 7 days and it only hurt a little, mom was proud of how tough i am. The next weekend mom had a couple of her jewelry parties, so we spent a lot of time with dad. Mom's not too sure about this sales thing, even though she loves the jewelry, but now she has to do it at least a few more times to pay for the jewelry she bought for display/wearing. Spring break occurred around here at the end of march, so we had a week off of school and swimming and gymnastics, but now we are all back in to the swing of things. Zac is talking like a 3yearold. He is counting to 5 - sometimes 6 and 7. He is doing everything himself - feeding, getting into his car seat, trying to put his shoes on. Yesterday he pooped a tiny poop on the potty, then pooped the big one in his diaper. Mom was all excited. Then today he actually did his real morning poop in the potty- just said "poopie" and mom thought he was going to be poopie, but he wasn't, so she put him on the potty chair, and a couple minutes later, he had pooped! Mom was doing the potty dance for ever after he did that. And then, about an hour later zac says "poopie" and mom puts him on the potty chair and he pees! Mom couldn't believe it, almost fell over in disbelief. Another big deal - he hasn't nursed since FRIDAY! That is four days now without boobie. That is sad for mom - she was sad last night, but also she is happy. She says that is how parenting feels in general.
Dad did another bike race on april 2 - what a crazy morning! we barely made it to the race in time, with the daylight savings time change and all....but he did it. Of course mom forgot the camera, but it was so windy that she was holding zac tight in a blanket to keep him from screaming. So she wouldn't have been able to take many pics anyway. I was pretty crabby too - we saw dad go around once and i wanted to go inside, but mom said she wanted to see him go around again, so i whined the whole time, but we saw him go around again. We went inside for some hot cocoa for his last lap and then met him at the car. He ended up in the top half of his field - not bad for hardly ever riding and not getting a warm up! GO DADA!!!!!
So we go on vacation soon and we are all excited to go to the desert and beach and relax all together.
Talk to you soon!

My Trip to the Emergency Room

What a weekend!
Mom and dad had a date night planned for friday night and 20 minutes before the babysitter was to arrive I slipped off the couch and hit my head on the baseboard. Unlucky for me, there was a phone jack right there and the corner of it gashed my scalp open. Dad was the first one to me and thought it was no big deal because i really didn't hit too hard, so he picked me up and handed me to mom, who had just walked over to me. Mom was carrying me and walking back to the kitchen when she felt some drops - she thought it was slobber from my crying, but then felt more wetness so she sat me on the counter and saw my hand full of blood. Then she pulled her hand off me and her hand was full of blood. She yelled - SHE'S BLEEDING! and then a ton of chaos started, but in about three minutes we were in the car headed to the ER. Turns out I needed three staples and mom thought i was the toughest kid around - halfway to the ER dad asked me if it still hurt and i said "yes, but not too bad". I was more worried about Izaac, because we left him crying in the neighbors arms - she said he cried for 40 minutes, so mom thinks he was the most traumatized - she feels sick about that.

Everyone is fine now - yesterday mom and dad each went for their own bike rides by themselves - trading off taking us to two birthday parties - yay! Good thing they went riding yesterday - today was miserable weather - they were both supposed to ride/race in the Stazio criterium, but changed their minds this morning when they saw snow on the ground. We are supposed to get 2 inches tonight. Ugh. Can't wait till our vacation in april to arizona!

Zac slept till 7am TWICE, after waking up at night.

We have had some nice weather here - we've been in the chariot more often. Mom worked on monday after the race day two sundays ago, and dad took us for a ride, then on tuesday mom took us to preschool in the chariot. Days are still borderline too cold, so we still ride in the car alot too. The Stazio criterium was cancelled last sunday because of the "blizzard" that came through, as well as mom's bike ride on saturday - but they didn't care because they were at work. So this week has been a little warm again, and mom was going to ride wed, but zac woke up frequently the night before - keeping mama awake and then i was up at 530 as usual, so she put us both down for a nap by noon and then slept herself. Turned out the winds were insane - we couldn't even go outside, so she was happy she slept. Zac has slept till 7 twice now - probably exhausted from waking up at night again. Mom wishes i would sleep past 6. We were awake at 5 this morning, just to show her she can't even count on the 530 wake time!
Today is nice, Ariadnee is here, and we were out on our bikes in the cul-de-sac. Zac is riding a little car down the driveway - he has learned to keep his feet up and go fast, and then i catch him at the bottom and help him get his car back to the top. Mom says i am the best big sister ever, and that she loves to see us play together. She loves that we are adventurous and love being on our bikes outside.
Talk to you later...

A great Weekend!

We had a great weekend - the weather was so nice. Dada took zac and me to my swim class on saturday morning while mom went on a good bike ride with her cycling group, then we went to the park after naps with our neighbor friends. I rode my bike all the way to the park - that is getting to be pretty easy.
On sunday we all piled in to the car and went to Boulder to watch the Criterium races and watch dad ride in his race. The Stazion criterium races are held every sunday in march and are laid back and fun. Lots of kids and dogs and then all these bikes going around and around. Dad had fun too - he says it helped motivate him! Mom had fun pulling zac around in the trailer while i rode my bike. Mom is impressed how well i ride - i can control my speed down hills and take sharp turns and i am learning to ride on the right side of the bike path and tell mom when i plan to stop so she doesn't crash in to me with her bike and the chariot. Zac loves the chariot - gets in and out so easily and is happy to ride in there - talking the whole time. skipped my nap today, i slept for about three minutes in the car and then woke up and refused to nap. Mom and dad are wondering what this evening is going to be like.....
talk to you later!
